I live in the Philippines and I had bought a cross stitch book from eaby several months ago. The patterns that I would like to sew next are the fridge magnet patterns but the instruction tells me that I have to adhere a magnetic strip on the finished pattern to stick it on the fridge. I am an amateur in this kind of stuff and I was just wondering if somebody knows where I can find/buy magnetic strips in manila? Thanks for your help!

Avery paper-products who produces all the cool printer-paper things like business cards, etc has a package of “White, Printable Magnet Sheets, for Ink Jet Printers” that I bought several years back.
They stick to the fridge just fine and are easy to cut with standard scissors. It’s AVERY product # 3270, and you should be able to find them in any office-products store, or Mercury Drugs.

This may sound silly, but if you find an old refrigerator you can take a craft knife and slit the rubber gasket around the door. Inside are long magnetic strips that help keep the door closed. You can cut these into the size you need. Use craft glue or hot glue gun to hold them on (just make sure the glue doesn’t “weep” thru). Free magnets! I have done this in the past with good results.
