How do you scan on the printer cannon?

Main problem from : How do I scan on a cannon printer?

Hi, i have a cannon MP250 printer. I have a project that is due for school, but i need to scan it into my computer and then send it. But I seem to have a problem when doing so. I tried looking in my instructions but it just says about photo scanning or whatever. So i need someones help to figure out how to scan it on my computer.

I have also tried just pressing the button scan but it just wants to print, lol.

Thanks for your help.

I do have something else to say…. it came with a cd to put in your computer and it downloads the information for the printer, is that what u were talking about?

What do i push on the printer to get it to scan?

First of all, the software (driver) has to be installed to control the scanner part of this all-in-one printer.

You won’t be able to do any fancy editing with it. You’d need a grpahic editing program (the high end is something you may have heard, Photoshop), to “control” it. And once it’s scanned, you can use photoshop to edit it.

Newer scanners have buttons, i.e. “fax”, ‘scan”, “copy”, etc. but it’s best that you read the manual (or at least click on F1 for HELP screen) for the steps when you do this.
